Completing your rug

When the rug is nearing completion, the far, cut edge should be doubled over at the correct canvas bar and sewn down properly. The sloping stitch should then be worked

over the last two corners and the plait finished along one selvedge, taken round the corner and along the last edge. The other selvedge plait is continued and they meet at the last corner.

This has been found to be a better method than attempting to work the whole edge before beginning the rug, in which case the last edge cannot be adjusted in case of error. Also the gradual growth of the framework helps to keep the whole rug in good shape during working.
